Friends of Arizona Archives is Arizona’s only volunteer organization dedicated to protecting the state’s historical records and ensuring that the public has full access to those records, both at the Arizona State Archives and at local institutions. Like all volunteer organizations, FAzA relies on donated funds and labor to carry out its mission. There are several ways you can help FAzA in its work on behalf of Arizona's historical archives.
Membership dues start at $10 per year. Anyone who works at, does research at, or supports Arizona’s historical archives is welcome to join; nonprofit organizations and businesses may also become members. FAzA is a 501(c)(3) organization, so membership dues are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
New members can join online or download a mail-in membership application/renewal form.
You don't have to be a FAzA member to help. To make a monetary contribution to FAzA, you can either donate online using the PayPal button below, or send in your donation by mail using the donor form. Donations to FAzA are tax-deductible to the extent provided by law.
When you donate online, you can pay with a credit card, debit card, or (if you have one) PayPal account.
All of us who use and depend on Arizona's historical archives need to make our voices heard, especially now that funding reductions have forced the Arizona State Archives and other historical repositories to reduce their staffing and hours.
When you receive a notice from the FAzA LISTSERV asking you to support an educational or advocacy campaign, consider lending a hand. You can help by volunteering your time or expertise to the campaign, by attending special events, or simply by sending a quick note to your state legislators or other public officials. To learn more about FAzA's educational and advocacy work, visit the Advocacy and Outreach page.
There many ways you can help FAzA with its activities, programs, and events. You can assist with FAzA's ongoing activities, serve on the Board of Directors or a committee, or help plan or staff a special event. FAzA also relies on volunteers for the workshops, conference sessions, and seminars it occasionally sponsors; proposals for such events are always welcome. For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact FAzA.
The FAzA LISTSERV is an electronic mailing list that announces current events and activities in the archives community; it also serves as a mechanism for mobilizing the community to speak out on issues of importance to the state's historical archives.
You do not need to be a member of FAzA to join. When you participate in the LISTSERV, you not only receive notices from FAzA and other list members but also can send your own notices to the list.
